Landing an international remote assignment: the talent guide
Working from home with a European or international company is no longer an exception: it is a path you can prepare. Step by step, here is what companies really expect, and how to put every chance on your side.

What companies really look for
Contrary to popular belief, international companies are not looking for “the perfect CV”: they are looking for a reliable collaboration. Three qualities come up in every request we handle: clear communication (in writing and in meetings), autonomy in organising your work, and consistency (delivering what was announced, when it was announced).
Technical skill remains the foundation, of course. But with equal skills, communication quality almost always makes the difference between two applications. Good news: it can be worked on.
Reliability
deliver what you promise, speak up when blocked
Clarity
professional French or English, written and spoken
Autonomy
organise yourself without constant supervision

Your profession is not listed? Submit your profile anyway: demand evolves every month, and a complete profile stays visible for upcoming searches.

A CV that passes assessment
Your CV is read by recruiters comparing dozens of profiles. Three rules make it stand out:
“Cut ticket processing time from 2 days to 4 hours” says more than “customer support management”. Quantify what can be quantified; describe the impact.
Golden rule: every experience answers “what changed thanks to you?”
Software, languages, methods (Scrum, ticketing, CRM…): recruiters filter by tools. What is not written does not exist.
List your tools by proficiency level, without inflating.
Two pages maximum, clear dates, zero graphic fantasy. In French AND English if you target both markets.
PDF format, professional file name: firstname-lastname-cv.pdf.

The 5 interview criteria
At Auralink Talent, every profile presented to a company has been assessed against 5 criteria. Knowing them means knowing how to prepare:
1. Technical
your real skills, tested on concrete cases
2 & 3. Soft skills and motivation
communication, organisation, and the coherence of your project
4 & 5. Culture and environment
company fit, verified connectivity and equipment
Your work environment matters
It is the criterion candidates underestimate most: a company entrusting an assignment wants certainty that work will not stop at the first outage. A stable connection (urban fibre changes everything), a quiet workspace and a power backup are part of the assessment.
If you lack equipment, it is not eliminatory: schemes like Auralink Equip let companies provide a full workstation (laptop, monitor, headset, UPS) with maintenance and replacement. Simply state your situation transparently: concealment costs the assignment, not the need for equipment.

Succeeding in your first 90 days
Once the assignment is secured, everything plays out in the first weeks:
“Talents who build multi-year collaborations share one trait: they treat communication as a professional skill, not a formality.”
Mistakes that cost an assignment
Frequent questions
Does joining guarantee an assignment?
No, and beware of anyone promising otherwise. It makes you visible for searches matching your profile; a complete file and a successful interview do the rest.
Are my contract and payroll secure?
Yes: under employer of record you are employed locally with a contract compliant with your national law, regular payroll and managed declarations. After 12 months of continuous collaboration, health insurance may be offered (subject to conditions).
Do I need fluent English?
Not necessarily: many assignments are French-speaking. Professional English does widen opportunities significantly; state your real level.
